Zeenews initiave to rejuvenate Hockey in India

Zee News in partnership with the Federal Republic of Germany hosted a Champion’s Meet to encourage our National game Hockey and felicitate current World Champion, the German Hockey Team on Saturday March 6, 2010 at the German Embassy. This initiative was a way to give due recognition to the players, applaud their efforts and bring the game into limelight.
The occasion was a confluence of the current and former World Champions and ace Indian Hockey players. Extending their support and greetings to the German Hockey team were some of the former Indian Hockey players like Dhanraj Pillai, Ajit Pal Singh, Ashok Kumar, Ashok Diwan, Aslam Sher Khan, M K Kaushik, Zafar Iqbal, Jagdish Singh, Pargat Singh, R.S. Dhola, Harvinder Singh and Raghubir Lal.
Indian Hockey has not only produce legends, it has rather produced champions. These master controllers of the ball have agility to score goals with lightening speed and have held the world spell bound with their skills.
The Honourable Ambassador of Germany was present to grace the evening as the Chief Guest.
Zee News helped in further highlighting the effort and hard work of the Indian and German Hockey players and thank them for bringing the laurels to their country.
