Zenjiro Yasuda (JPN coach)
“It’s a pity. We are quite sad about the result although it is a big improvement in comparison to yesterday’s match against Great Britain. The Netherlands, our next opponent, are physically fit and mentally hardened, that’s why it is a huge challenge for our team. But it is very important for Japan to play this match”.

Kate Walsh (GBR captain)
“We are disappointed with how we played in the first half, but we improved in the second half. We pressured Netherlands and we were able to level the score.

Danny Kerry (GBR coach)
“We could have won this match but we failed to convert two penalty strokes.” Regarding the teams improvement in the last year, he said that their main goal are the Olympic Games as it will be a great challenge to play at home. Kerry also made a comment about the temperature: “Those who decided to play at this time with this temperature should play so as to feel what is like.”

Netherlands

Coach Max Caldas and team-captain Maartje Paumen agreed having played a really good first half, but not the second. “We knew they would be a strong opponent”, Paumen said.“ We were one team in the first half and another in the second. We celebrate it was a tie”, said the coach.

Mark Hager (NZL coach)
“We showed two different faces today. Again we had a good first half but we are struggling in the second half in two areas physicality and mental toughness.”
