Malaysia defeated Singapore 3-0 in their second match at the SEA Cup being played in Yangon, Myanmar. It was their second win having defeated Thailand 6-0 yesterday.

The win ensured them a place in Saturday's final with a match to spare against host Myanmar on Friday.

Kavin Khartik opened scoring in the 2nd minute via a penalty corner and seven minutes later veteran Chua Boon Huat made it 2-0 also via a penalty corner.

Kavin was on target again through a penalty corner in the 13th minute and despite dominating the match Malaysia could not find the back of the net.

"It was a good win and the players were guilty of missing sitters. I guess they got complacent after takimng a 3-0 lead in the opening 15 minutes of the match," said team manager M. Gobinathan.

"We are rotating the players to give all of them a chance to play and should be able to defend the title."
