Jaap Suyk (1959) started as a hockey trainer at his 16th at hockey club Terriers with juniors teams and goal keepers training till he graduated for his trainer diploma " hockey trainer A" in the same period he also started to become neutral referee which he keep doing for 25 years.

After several years being a hockey trainer for the juniors he became head coach for men's hockey team of Uitgeest. After this first assignment as a hockey trainer coach, many hockey clubs followed like Bloemendaal (women 2 and 3 and men 3), Leiden (men 2 and 3, first team played "hoofdklasse" under Roelant Oltmans).

After a long period at hockey club he started as head trainer coach for Kieviten (women 1), Roomburg Leiden (men 1) HIC Amstelveen (men 1),

Forescate (men 1) and closed his Dutch hockey trainer coaching period at Hurley( women 2).

Both national referee as hockey trainer coaching was on second highest level in Netherlands.
