Hockey Asia Academy for professional players

Our concept for this academy is to make profesional hockey players

in one year program who can be selected by European top-clubs and

to develop their hockey skills in a very intensive way. And at the same time

we develop training & coaching qualities of each student.

How are suitable for our professional academy?

National juniors and young national players from Asia and Africa who showed their

talents during World Cups and FIH qualifiying matches and are recommended by their

own hockey federation. Our focus group are hockey talents from age of 16 years - 24

years who have good motivation and talents to grow in an interesting hockey career.

Our professional academy starts with masculine candidates.

How does it work?

From January till December 2010 we start our academy with a maximum number of

18 students. After application during the December 2009 we organize your visa

(if you are traveling from outside Malaysia), your transfer to Kuala Lumpur, your stay and

and administrative work required to stay and to join our academy.

When do we start

From the beginning of next year - when the first group is selected -we start

an intensive program with runs every week for minimum of 20 hours and

at the same time together with teachers of Hockey Asia students start giving

training clinics to school students.

Program set up

Our first goal is to train the students very intensively. All the programs run from

our hockey stadium which exact location will be announced very soon and from

that moment students can apply.

Indication hours are:

Hockey Training :  Daily from Monday - Friday

Classes: Video education - Training education

Fitness - Power Training and athletics are combined with classes

Clinics with Hockey Asia at schools 2 p.m.- 5 p.m.

Every week :

 hours hockey training

 hours video training and personal video analysis

 hours training education

 hours running & athletic training

 hours fitness and power training

During weekends our program doesn't stop we play 1 match (included in monthly fee)

And we will plan 1- 2 tours to European hockey clubs of minimum of 1,5 week per tour and costs

of these tours are not included.

Video analysis and video education

Our professional video analist and TV camera man (former RTM) organizes the technical part.

He was during the Asia Cup 2009 in Kuantan our camera man and video director.

Trainers at professional academy 

Besides CEO of Hockey Asia Sdn. Bhd. Jaap Suyk will be training and coordinating this

academy, other trainers from the Netherlands will participate in our academy.

Price indication

The costs for this academy is estimated at 1,100 Rm per month (= approx. € 220 per month)

but other costs like housing, medical insurance, administrative costs (visa etc.) will be extra and

are not included. The price is indicative and can varied after our stadium location

is officially announced.
