Good morning,
The MHL, Malaysian Hockey League, came to an end last night with the finals between Tenaga and Sapura for number 1.
And KLHC and Maybank for the 3rd placing. 2 months of hockey competitions and especially a lot of promises from MHF to do things better.
At least one clinic we have counted and most matches had a handful of spectators what doesn't give an impressive feeling, this time the MHF did a better job.
But the MHF will put all their money in the hands of the new foreign coach to do some development and hopefully he can make changes so that people will come to the stadiums and the national team don't have to rely on school kids who are brought into the stadiums so there is some crowds.
In 3 months things must be really better as hockey in Malaysia at this moment is not alive.
And from May the new coach will have 6 months to make the team better than Pakistan, India, Korea and China as for him the only ticket who counts will be Gold at Asian Games in Guangzhou. A very big challenge but miracles still exist who knows what will happen.
Let us go back to India where the excitement of the World Cup is really there, the national coach Harendra Singh made a strong wish to the Sports minister to open the stadium for the media during Indian preparation time.
Of course if you really want to bring back hockey to the people in India the media can play a crucial part and it must benefits two ways the national team and the public.
At interviews the captain of India, Rajpal Singh about what he believes is possible with India.
But most interesting article is about the so-called war by Sohail Abbas naming the match between India and Pakistan, the umpires who get this match must be very excited.
Have a nice weekend and keep smiling,
